These terms apply to the QuizBao app for iPhone, iPad and Android (“the app”), operated by an independent developer (“we”). By claiming a trial, making a purchase or continuing to use the app, you agree to them. How we handle data is described in the privacy policy.
In short: you are buying a license to use the app, not ownership of it and not any question content. A lifetime purchase means you pay once and never again. If we ever stop running the service, we will announce it in advance and release a version that keeps working offline.
1. Your license
- We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the app for your own studies. We keep the copyright and other rights in the app.
- QuizBao is a tool. You supply and import the questions; we don't provide or sell question content and aren't responsible for what you import. Don't import or share material that infringes other people's rights.
- If you got the app from the App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.
2. Trials
- The 1-day trial of the full version is free and can be claimed once per device, when the app shows it as available. It needs an internet connection, and we use a device identifier and IP address to prevent repeated claims.
- When the trial ends you return to the free version. Your banks and records stay on your device.
- Claiming trials repeatedly by technical means (faking device identifiers, automated claims) breaks these terms, and we may refuse service.
3. Purchases
- 7-day pass: unlocks the full version for 7 days from purchase. It does not renew and you are never charged automatically.
- Lifetime purchase: a one-time payment that unlocks the full version for long-term use with no further charges, including later updates within the same major version of the app. “Lifetime” describes how you pay (once, no subscription) — it means we will not charge you again during the life of the app, not that the service is guaranteed to exist forever. Section 7 explains what we commit to if it stops.
- AI points: prepaid credit for AI features inside the app. Points never expire, are not tied to the full version, can't be exchanged for cash and can't be transferred. Each AI job shows its price before it starts; pages that contain no questions or fail to process are refunded in points.
- Prices are shown in the App Store or Google Play at the time of purchase.
4. Devices and restoring purchases
- On iPhone and iPad, restore a purchase on a new device with Restore purchases and the same Apple ID. On Android, use the same Google account.
- Purchases are for personal use. If one purchase is used on an abnormally large number of devices, we may revoke it.
5. Internet and offline use
- Your banks, answers and backups are stored on your device and are not uploaded to our servers, except for content you send to an AI feature (see the privacy policy).
- The license is checked online from time to time. Trials check more often. After activation, paid versions keep working offline for a long time (currently 180 days for the lifetime purchase and 30 days for passes); after that, connect once to refresh.
- You are responsible for backing up your data (Settings → Data → Export backup). We can't recover data lost through a lost device, a reset or deletion.
6. Refunds
- App Store: purchases and refunds are handled by Apple. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Google Play: purchases and refunds are handled by Google under Google Play's refund policies. You can also contact us.
- When we are notified of a refund, the related purchase or points are removed from the app.
- We recommend trying the free version and the 1-day trial before buying.
7. If we ever shut down
We are an independent developer and can't promise our servers will run forever. To protect paying users, we commit to the following:
- If we decide to shut down the license service, we will announce it in the app and on this website at least 60 days in advance.
- Before shutting down, we will release an offline version that lets activated lifetime purchases keep working without online checks, together with instructions for exporting backups.
- Installed copies of the app and the banks and records on your device are not affected by a shutdown.
- Users with an unexpired pass will get the same offline treatment.
8. What you must not do
- Crack, decompile or bypass the license checks, or make or distribute modified versions;
- Claim trials in bulk, or resell or share purchases;
- Use the app to spread infringing or illegal content.
If you do, we may suspend or end the related license without a refund.
9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
- The app is provided “as is”. We work to fix bugs, but don't guarantee it is error-free, uninterrupted or suitable for any particular exam or purpose.
- To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses from using or being unable to use the app, and our total liability is limited to the amount you actually paid for it.
10. Changes and contact
- We publish changes to these terms on this page with a new date, and point out significant changes in the app. Continuing to use the app means you accept the updated terms.
